Party Party Party!

Two weeks ago was a week full of parties! Okay... so... maybe there were only two for us but that is a lot.

That Tuesday, I went with Eryka and Kim to a party hosted by Francesca's in University Mall. Brianna from Breezy Days put it together and it was a lot of fun! We did a fun little activity where we wrote notes to the other girls on papers taped to their backs. Call me a third grader, but I love those sort of things! After chatting and shopping around for a while, Bri split us up into three groups and we put together outfits based on the section we were in. I should have been snapping more pics than I did but I was too involved in what we were doing haha. After that we shopped and chatted more until the party was over. It was so much fun to hang out with girls I already knew and get to know more!

Two days later was Halloween. Unfortunately, Al and I didn't dress up or anything since we had school that day and he also spent the entire weekend before on my parent's roof so our costume planning did not happen. Oh well. Good thing Halloween comes each year. We did go out to dinner and a movie with his parents which was fun! We saw The Saratov Approach, which is about two Mormon missionaries who are kidnapped while serving in Russia. To learn more about the missionaries you can go here. You guys need to see this movie! I was blown away and so touched by these men. Never thought I'd have my testimony strengthened by a movie but it happened. Perfect movie for family or date night or whenever but just go see it!

Two days later was November 2nd or... MY BIRTHDAY! Don't you think birthdays are the best?!

Alan and my sister, Amanda, took me to breakfast at Kneader's in City Creek. Then we shopped for a while and I learned that my sister had been given tickets to Thriller as payment for babysitting but that she had given them to her friends so they could go on a date. (Not important information really, but it will become important later on in the day).

City Creeking is becoming a tradition for my birthday! We did it last year and it's always so fun out there. After a while, we decided to head home and as we started driving, Amanda told us she had left a book at the school that she needed to complete an assignment. Alan told her it was no big deal and that we could take her to the University of Utah to grab the book. Fighting the downtown traffic Alan decided to pullover at a park below the building Amanda said her locker was at. I was so confused as to why he'd park all the way down here when we could just drop her off and wait. He said he was worried about finding parking closer but I assured him that we could find something and he headed up to President's circle. After landing a perfect parking spot, we started walking toward David Gardner Hall and as I was asking Amanda where her locker was located, she led us into a ticket office and I still was so confused as to why she'd keep her book in there. Then she said, "I have three tickets for Thriller on hold" she said to the lady behind the glass. I HAD BEEN BAMBOOZLED!!  Turns out Alan and Amanda had been planning this for two days and had totally fooled me! I was in shock and so excited to see the show! This was probably the best surprise of the day!

Even though I was excited to see the show, I was also a little bit nervous! With zombies walking around the auditorium and numbers on the program with names such as "Chuckie's Children" I wasn't exactly sure what to expect and felt a little jumpy.

But as soon as it started I was just amazed at the dancers and quickly remembered that it was just normal people dressed up. I know. Pretty lame. But whatever. The show was awesome! It was really good and I think we may start making a Halloween season tradition out of it. After the show we went back home and got things together for my family and friends that were coming over. Alan's parents were there and some of Alan's best friends showed up, which was a pleasant surprise! We had donuts instead of cake and I was pretty pleased with how the evening ended.

I got the cute donut tags from this website and wrapped up the evening opening up gifts and talking with the people I love. Thanks for all of the fun birthday wishes and reliving the day with me! When is your birthday? How would you perfectly spend it?
