I have this hang up about things being perfect and I don't feel like my blog is yet hence no posts and all of the changes but I have decided to be serious about this and write as I am building the perfect blog! Along those lines, I have just been feeling blah lately. Not sure why but just have not been feeling pretty or worthwhile and it started to worry me! But this last Thursday night I received some advice that helped a lot! The story starts as Alan and I were at Family History class at our Church this week. The gentleman that teaches it, Brother Evans, is one of the nicest men that I have ever met! As Al and I were there with 2 other ladies, these ladies started to say things about how bad they were at using computers, typing, that they were getting old and such. Then Brother Evans said, "Speak well of yourselves." This stopped me dead in my tracks! That was exactly what I needed to hear. Not that I had been saying bad things about myself really but just feeling them. After hearing that I began to think of things I needed to do and have been doing them the past few days and I just wanted to share them with you!
1. Reading Scriptures and Praying.
I have always had a hard time with morning prayers but have been trying harder to say them and it makes a world of difference in my day! I also have been reading my Scriptures from my phone in the morning. The light from my phone wakes me up while I get a spiritual uplift! It is the greatest!
2. Take care of yourself!
I have been doing this by getting up and working out for 20 minutes each morning. It is SO true that exercise makes you feel better! I love it!
3. Do 3 things you love EVERY day!
Lately this includes snuggling with my Al while we watch THE OFFICE, window shopping, and reading!
4. Saying nice things about OTHER people!
It's true, being kind to others really does make YOU feel good!
5. "Speak Well of Yourself."
I will never forget this. I have been saying one nice thing to myself as I get ready each morning like, "Nice hair" or "I like your shirt." It sounds silly to talk to yourself but it HELPS!
Those things have been a lifesaver for me the rest of this week and I am feeling much better about myself and my life and everything! Hopefully this is helpful if you needed a little pick me up like I did this week!
